Do Perfect Straps Exist?
Share
Backpacks wouldn't be backpacks without the ability to.. well... strap them to your back. I'm in the midst of a development journey, and I've arrived at a massive checkpoint. I've begun developing the straps for my backpack. There are a few requirements for these straps ignorer to make them perfect.
1. sternum straps/sternum adjustment
A backpack feature I love is sternum straps. if a bag doesn't have this it's not a bag for me. It's vey important that my bag has this feature. So I'm working on developing a system that can integrate with my suspension strap system to allow for sternum strap adjustability and functionality.
2. The aforementioned suspension strap system.
This is a system that allows for adjustments up at the shoulder, helping to keep the backpack from sinking/pulling away from the top of your back once filled. This will help keep the bag close and secure ultimately feeling more like an extension of yourself rather than a big bulky thing hanging off your back.
3. Straps that don't slip off your shoulders.
One thing I can't stand is when backpack straps feel like they are sliding off your shoulders. That's uncomfortable and not very practical. I want this thing to feel rock solid.
Sol all of these things are being kept in consideration while designing these backpack straps. Want to see the process? check out the latest video documenting the build for this backpack.
